Jonas Huff is a systems engineer building across aerospace, robotics, and automotive domains.

I’m a senior at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, studying systems engineering with a minor in English. For as long as I can remember I’ve been modifying systems and objects to make them work better — from restoring a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am, to pioneering a bracket-mount design at AutoStore, to teaching myself to play the guitar by customizing my own.

In the summer of 2025 I worked on software engineering projects for NASA at Johnson Space Center as an intern for Amentum on the JETSii contract — a long-held childhood goal of working in the aerospace industry. Alongside engineering I’ve enjoyed studying the works of William Shakespeare and Leo Tolstoy.

On the leadership side, I served on the executive board of my fraternity as Secretary, rewrote the bylaws, and helped lead an alumni fundraising effort that raised $20K+ toward house renovations. Outside of school I sail, play electric and acoustic guitar and 5-string banjo, design and program small video games, and cook — seafood paella and chicken tikka masala on rotation.
